Two Men Accused with Inmate Homicide of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder after the death in prison of ex-Lostprophets frontman and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.

Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 now face murder accusations and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to police authorities.

Watkins, 48, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after admitting a string of sex offences which included the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was taken into custody following a narcotics search warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were taken as evidence.
