The Brazilian star Extends Sincere Sorry to Los Blancos Devotees

Vinicius Jr in action

The forward has netted five finishes in ten La Liga outings during the current campaign.

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr has apologised to supporters for his conduct when taken off in Sunday's intense match against Barcelona win.

The Brazilian was taken off in the 72nd min and showed his annoyance by heading directly down the tunnel.

He eventually reappeared to the bench and, after his team's 2-1 victory, tried to confront Barça's youngster Yamal during unpleasant final whistle exchanges.

"Now I want to apologise to all the supporters for my reaction when I was taken off in the big match," the player wrote on X.

"Similarly to I have already done during this morning's training, I wish to say sorry once more to my teammates, the organization, and the club president.

"Sometimes passion takes over me because I always want to win and help my side. My winning mentality stems from the affection I feel for this team and all it represents."

Vinicius signed for Madrid from Brazil in recent years for £38.7m and has notched over a century of strikes in more than 300 games.

But his career in the La Liga is uncertain with speculation in recent months indicating that the club would think about letting the player depart if they got a good proposal.

When the winger was substituted on that day, broadcast footage from coverage provider the platform captured him saying: "Again me! I'm departing the side! It's preferable if I go, I'm going."

In his new message on social media, the athlete commented: "I commit to keep striving at all times for the good of Los Blancos, as I have acted since the first day."
