Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev won his initial championship for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.
Medvedev, a former number one, has endured a torrid season, achieving just a single victory at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in particular - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks his maiden trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt after that period of the previous year.
Success also signifies the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 distinct competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is really nice," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my child her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had lost his past six title deciders, including in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's counter-punching strategy and recurring reactions on court had prompted some to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.
But the player has made changes in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play aggressively, backed up by an improved serve.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair traded break points in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his initial tour championship, took control to push for a decider.
Moutet rescued 4 initial chances in a tight third set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev earned the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
