I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize next month's boxing match.

Ex two-time unified boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly happening.
